Responsibilities • Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings. • Establish and communicate appropriate care plans with the patient care team. • Administer routine therapeutic modalities, including aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy. • Manage mechanical ventilators according to established protocols. • Provide age-specific education to patients and families regarding disease management. • Assist in intra-hospital transport of patients on mechanical ventilation. • Conduct acute airway management in emergency situations. • Set up and manage non-invasive monitoring equipment. • Assist with discharge planning for respiratory-related durable medical equipment. • Adhere to regulatory and safety standards. • Collect arterial blood gas samples and process via point-of-care analyzers. • Function as a Shift Coordinator when designated after one year of employment. • Assist the medical team in fiberoptic bronchoscopy procedures. • Preceptor for orientees and students during clinical rotations.
